Everyone loves a good head of curly hair. There's something about bouncy, defined curls that make you feel like a million bucks. But let's be real – maintaining those curls can be a challenge. That's why we're here to help! In this blog post, we'll share our top tips for keeping your Raw curls looking their best!!
1. Know your curl type: There are different origins of curly hair you can choose from, and although different in origin, they are basically maintained the same way. At Straight From The Scalp, we provide Cambodian, Indonesian and Burmese curly hair.
2. Use the right products: Once you know the origin of your Raw hair, you can start using the right products to maintain your healthy hair routine. Choose shampoo, conditioner, and styling products that are specifically designed for curly hair. These products will help hydrate and tame your locks so they look their best. Our Cambodian hair:
Requires a lite oil due to the coarse texture and the low-meduim luster.
Our Indonesian hair:
Might require the use of Dry Shampoo due to a higher level of luster
Our Burmese hair:
Doesn't require anything but water! This hair has a very nice medium luster
3. Be gentle with your hair: When shampooing and conditioning, use gentle motions and avoid rubbing your strand too hard. This can cause frizz and damage your delicate strands. Instead, lightly with your fingertips run your fingers down the shaft of the hair and let the suds slip down your strands. When drying, avoid rubbing too vigorously. Use a t-shift if possible to squeeze the excess water.
4. Protect your curls at night: To keep your curls looking spectacular around the clock, it's important to protect them while you sleep. Invest in a satin pillowcase or sleep on a silk scarf to prevent friction and frizz while you catch some Zs. You can also try a satin bonnet or silk headscarf if you prefer – both options will help keep your curls undisturbed while you slumber.
